Taylor Swift got the VMA party started with — how fitting — a music video! Taylor debuted her “Wildest Dreams” music video during the live pre-show. Fans were buzzing over Taylor’s video with Scott Eastwood but soon had more to talk about. Nicki, the woman Taylor had a quick Twitter-VMA- beef with, officially kicked off the show with her performance of “Trini Dem Girls” and “The Night Is Still Young.” Suddenly, Taylor rose out of the stage and sang with Nicki. Suddenly, the two joined in for the chorus of Taylor’s “Bad Blood!”

Nicki would give the VMAs another shocking moment. While accepting the “Best Hip Hop Video” award from Rebel Wilson, Nicki called out Miley for her interview that called out her VMA outburst. Nicki even caNicki’s outburst wasn’t the only emotional display at the VMAs. After Justin Bieber delivered an amazing comeback performance, performing his hits “What Do You Mean?” and “Where Are Ü Now,” Justin broke down in tears! The audience welcomed Justin back, giving his a standing ovation!

While accepting the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award, Kanye gave a long speech that covered everything from his iconic “I’mma gonna let you finish” moment to his feud with award shows. Yeezy ended his speech with his 2020 Presidential Campaign announcement! Kayne’s rant left everyone puzzled, including Taylor and his love, Kim Kardashian.

After Miley’s twerking was the talk of the 2013 VMAs, she knew she had to top herself — and she did! Miley was a great VMAs host.
