Babatunde Fashola is
a popular Nigerian as he’s been the governor of Nigeria’s commercial hub, Lagos
state, for the past 8 years.
• He was born with a silver spoon. His great-great-grand
father was Alfa Bello Fashola, a rich philantropist and pal of the Eshugbayi
Eleko (Oba of Lagos).
• He was born the year Nigeria became a republic. 1963
• He’s a graduate of UNIBEN and served in Benin
• He is the first Chief of Staff in history to become a
Senior Advocate of Nigeria. (August 2004)
• Fashola is not just a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, he is
also the second law graduate from UNIBEN and the first person from the Nigerian
Law School graduating set of 1988 to be conferred with the honor.
• He is a die-hard Manchester United FC fan
• Fashola is left-handed
• He has four sons
• In February 2014, Fashola signed two bills into law
