Celine Dion’s Husband Planned His Own Funeral Before His Death

Celine Dion, 47, was truly loved by her late husband, Rene Angelil, who lost his battle to cancer on Jan. 14, 2015. Even on his death bed her manager husband planned his entire funeral to lighten his wife’s burden once he was gone.

 Losing a loved one is always very difficult, but things can be even harder when you have to plan out their memorial. Thankfully for Celine, her husband took care of everything he could before passing away so that she wouldn’t have to. Of course their situation was a little different because Rene knew that his time was short, but he made the most of it by making sure Celine was well taken care of even in his death.

“René was generous enough to prepare all of this since the last few months with Céline,” Celine’s stylist and longtime friend Annie Horth told PEOPLE. “He didn’t know when it would happen, but he really wanted everything to be already prepared.”

Because of Rene’s planning, Celine is “going through [this] peacefully and with control.” Very few details about Rene’s funeral have been revealed, but it has been reported that it will take place in the same church that he married Celine.
